Water Truck Driver
Job Description
Department: Myrl & Roy’s
Reports to: Grading Superintendent & Forman
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for driving a water truck to help keep dust under control with the road crews. Assisting the road crew with labor needs and operating grading and asphalt equipment will be additional duties. CDL preferred or the ability to attain one.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Does not have any direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate a water truck and provide dust containment.
• Perform the physical duties of the work in all types of weather conditions.
• Perform routine manual labor tasks, including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• Display good communication skills, including understanding and following verbal and written directions and instructions.
• Learn a variety of work skills associated with maintenance and repair operations.
• Safely and efficiently use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Read, understand, and follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Good work attendance is a must.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, sit, and walk for long durations.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
