Ranch Hand – Outdoor Work on Private Hunting Preserve

$25/hour to start Wautoma, WI Full-Time or Seasonal

Trade the cubicle for 400 acres. Edenwood Ranch & Preserve is hiring a hands-on Ranch Hand who loves working outside, takes pride in a job done right, and would rather run a tractor than scroll a phone. If you grew up on a farm, hunted your whole life, served in the military, or just always wanted a job where you can see the sky - we want to talk to you.

The Quick Facts

• Pay: $25/hour to start, with room to grow based on skills and reliability
• Location: Edenwood Ranch & Preserve, Wautoma, WI (no remote — this is real work outside)
• Schedule: Daytime hours in summer; longer hours during fall hunting season; lighter winters
• Type: Full-time or seasonal — let us know what works for you
• Experience: Helpful, but we'll train the right person who shows up and works hard

What You'll Actually Do

No two days are the same. In a typical week you might:

• Run tractors, UTVs, and small equipment around the property
• Feed and check on animals, keeping an eye on their health
• Maintain grounds — mowing, brush clearing, firewood, snow removal in season
• Keep up the pond, beach, trails, and outdoor amenities
• Handle light building maintenance (filters, batteries, bulbs, basic repairs)
• Help with planting and field work in spring
• Prep the property for hunting season and assist or guide hunts (3-day/2-night sessions)
• Keep the shop, barn, and work areas squared away
• Help create a great experience for guests when they're on the property

Who We're Looking For

• Reliable — you show up on time and finish what you start
• Comfortable working outside in Wisconsin weather, year-round
• Mechanically inclined or eager to learn (if you can change your own oil, you're ahead)
• Able to lift 75 lbs and handle physical work all day
• Have a valid driver's license
• Friendly and respectful around guests, especially during hunting season
• Bonus points: tractor/heavy equipment experience, hunting background, welding, small-engine repair, or carpentry
