A wonderful gentleman on the east side of Madison is seeking a dynamic caregiver to join his support team. This isn't just about tasks; it's about building a genuine rapport. You'll spend your mornings socializing, watching TV, and enjoying engaging conversation, all while providing essential medical support in a calm, one-on-one home setting. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to accompany him on occasional, gentle community outings to enjoy the neighborhood, run a light errand, or simply get some fresh air together. We are looking for someone for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide compassionate, skilled support, including:
· G-Tube Feeding: You will be responsible for administering gravity feeding through a G-tube according to his established care plan, monitoring for any signs of discomfort or complications.
· Seizure Monitoring: A key part of this role involves observing for seizure activity and ensuring his safety and well-being.
· Mobility Assistance: You will assist with safe movement and transfers using a gait belt.
· Personal Care: Assistance with minimal personal care needs is required.
· Community Outings & Engagement: Weather and energy permitting, shifts may include accompanying him on short, local outings. This could involve a stroll around the block to enjoy the morning air, a drive to a nearby coffee shop, or a brief visit to a local park to provide a change of scenery and a sense of community connection.
· Companionship: The role is built on genuine connection—socializing, watching TV, and having meaningful conversations are central to every shift.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
· Has experience with or is eager to learn G-tube feeding and seizure monitoring (extensive training will be provided).
· Is a reliable, dynamic, and patient communicator who values making a real connection.
· Is physically capable of using a gait belt to assist with transfers.
· Is comfortable and confident in assisting with safe community mobility (walks and vehicle transfers).
Compensation & Logistics
· Pay: $21.00 per hour.
· Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM (6 hours/week).
· Training: Full, paid, extensive training is provided on all medical protocols and equipment.
