Class A Diesel Truck Mechanic

$83,000+ Yearly | Indianapolis, IN

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and after‑treatment issues on diesel-powered equipment.
• Service and repair heavy-duty trucks, including roll-off trucks, tractor-trailers, and flatbeds. (Class A semis)
• Maintain and repair material handlers, loaders, forklifts, and specialty recycling and industrial equipment.
• Perform advanced engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and emissions-system repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair DPF, DEF, and SCR systems with a high level of diagnostic accuracy.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software to identify root causes of equipment failures and prevent repeat issues.
• Oversee and perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment to reduce unplanned downtime.

Essential Skills

• At least 3+ years of experience as a diesel technician, preferably in fleet, heavy equipment, or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Advanced electrical diagnostic skills, including troubleshooting complex electrical systems and components.
• Expertise in air brake systems, braking components, and related safety systems.
• Hands-on experience with transmissions, suspensions, and mechanical systems on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and repair skills across diesel engines, trucks, and heavy equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Beech Grove, IN.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
