Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support its financial systems modernization initiative as part of the Florida PALM Project. The role focuses on transforming large-scale financial and operational data into actionable dashboards, reports, and decision-support solutions using Microsoft Power BI.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in:

• Microsoft Power BI development
• Financial reporting and analytics
• IBM DB2 databases
• SQL and data transformation
• Enterprise reporting environments

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing data environments and identify transformation requirements prior to dashboard development
• Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and paginated reports
• Collaborate with business users and leadership to create a strategic reporting roadmap
• Convert legacy WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS queries into T-SQL
• Automate data preparation and reporting processes to reduce manual Excel-based analysis
• Create Power BI dataflows and support enterprise reporting architecture
• Work with DBAs to develop database views and stored procedures
• Analyze financial datasets and recommend improvements to data models
• Administer Power BI workspaces and reporting environments
• Train business users and finance teams on Power BI reporting tools and dashboards

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree requirement
• Experience
• Minimum 3 years of Business Intelligence experience
• At least 2 years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI development experience
• Experience working with IBM DB2 databases
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Experience building financial dashboards and analytical reports

• Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, and Operational Data Stores
• OLAP cubes and Star/Snowflake schema concepts

• Power Automate
• Power Apps
• Microsoft Teams
• PowerPoint

• SCRUM/Agile methodology knowledge
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Data Warehouse
• Knowledge of WebFOCUS
• Understanding of mainframe systems and flat files
• Experience with financial systems or ERP platforms
